Yes, I also found it unclear what the difference was between the witches view and use of the Force and the Jedi's. One thing I found interesting was the mystery of how Osha and Mae were created and whether or not this tied into Anakin's birth. From the looks of things it appears that Mae got all the force strength and Osha got very little (given that she was certainly desperate enough to compel it on the ship, were it usually within her power). At the same time, had she no ability she wouldn't have been taken by the Jedi in the first place.
So while some questions were answered by this episode I still found a lot hanging. I found the first episode a very mixed bag (how was Osha supposed to have committed the murder while being on a ship full of people elsewhere? No one from that ship seemed to be interviewed nor their records checked?) However I did enjoy the opening fight scene and agree that these have been a strong point. (I also enjoyed seeing Jason from The Good Place in quite a different role).
