Yeah I have to agree that a lot of Acolyte didn't make sense. Ultimately the plot seems to revolve around two intertwined mysteries -- what happened to the coven and where Mae and Osha came from. We do eventually find out (for the most part) the answers to those things but they're not that much of a revelation. And the end result seems mostly to impact Sol and the odd switch in perspectives between Mae and Osha. (I'm not clear why Mae needs to return with the Jedi at all. If it's to keep them from hunting down Osha and "The Stranger" (as the captions insisted on calling him), that doesn't seem to have worked.
I also am baffled by Bazil's act with the wiring. Was he truly confused about the difference between Mae and Osha? If they're genetically identical I could see that being the case.
