I liked the finale but I do think there are a lot of logical gaps in it. Some I can handwave, such as Ezra's arrival. Given the ridiculous overconfidence that we saw in the first episode, I absolutely think it would have been ludicrous for them to assume that Ezra was Ezra. That said, I think it's also easy to assume that they already knew who was aboard the ship, and given Hera was there, it would not have been all that unexpected for her to see him turn up. I'm guessing that the whole welcoming party was a needed abundance of caution, though why he'd walk out with his helmet on made no sense. It was pointless suspense.
I also didn't get the purpose of the ship's low hover -- do they not have fuel needs out in the middle of nowhere? Also, they had to expect to be targets -- wouldn't it have been safer for the natives if they had stayed away and not drawn Empire attention directly on them?
However I don't think the destruction of Mandalore was an out of nowhere motivation. And while I am ambivalent about it not having come up explicitly before, it also makes sense. Everyone else involved would have already known so they'd have no need to discuss it -- so it made sense that it was revealed to the one person who didn't.
I had actually been wondering why Mandalore's fate hadn't been mentioned to that point. But there's a definite throughline in Sabine's obsession with Ezra and Anakin's appearance in the series, and it makes perfect sense as to why Ahsoka would abandon Sabine's training.
