Partners, Am I Right?

Secrets are revealed about a key suspect in the mystery, while hard truths emerge about Hawkeye and his past. But as Clint and Kate's partnership finally takes off, their efforts to uncover more of the story result in a stunning and confusing battle against not one, but two opposing forces.

I like a lot of OhmsnWattsonArt's art (and I've bought a couple) - here is a Hawkeye coffee print that is grouchy and cute.
Epic Hero Shop has this has several cool shirts including ClintandKate shooting, Rogers: the musical, and Pizza Dog!
If you like the outfit Clint wears in this episode, you can also have it on a pillow!

I keep seeing suggestions that somehow the watch reveals Hawkeye's wife was Mockingbird, and I hate it. First, why would a vintage Rolex that was in the compound have that info if she retired long enough ago to have teenagers, and second why would they burn Agents of SHIELD like that? (I still hope that they'll bring the AoS fam into the main continuity.)

The last episode was such a fun ride that this one was a little more blah in comparison, and as I'm not fond of the whole LARP aspect, at least they are being brought in for some plot related purposes (such as the arrow retrieval and costume design). But the ending certainly held plenty of interesting surprises.

I had a harder time with believability though. It's difficult enough to go along with those goo arrows working once, but a second time? Also, who is making all of Clint's equipment now that he's semi-retired and Tony is gone?

Yeah the second episode is the one that lagged the most to me -- maybe that's why the 1st and 2nd were released together. But yes, their bonding is definitely fun. Although I think it's pretty clear throughout that Clint is still affected by Natasha's loss they definitely hammered home a big reason for him wanting to keep his distance in that moment where he rushes to the roof edge to reach out his hand as Kate goes over.

Yeah, I'm at a bit of a loss as to what's supposed to be going on with SHIELD at this point, given what we know of Nick Fury (and I stopped watching AoS about 2 seasons before the end). But we also don't know what's going on with Stark industries -- is Pepper still CEO or retired?

*gasp* I had no idea there was going to be a Rhodey show! Don't tell me anymore as I don't want to know but that is great news. I've always found him so underwritten in fandom but have been happy to see him get more developed in canon.

Pfft, Jack & Eleanor's expressions when Kate armchair-diagnoses Clint with "probably some early childhood thing".

"Sounds weird 'cause it is." Hehe, Clint being funny, Peter Funny. Forgive me, but I have to bring some German culture into this:

Guy's last name is Lustig, which means "funny", he's from a beloved children's show and the above quote (which is pretty much what Clint said) was his iconic phrase.

I think I've been theorizing for too long, the bee cups are calling out to me to come up with a meaning for them. I mean, there are hexagons on them!

Oh, good, Clint nabbed his Ronin sword back. I thought he was just gonna ask for it, since it was stolen from the Avengers.

Eleanor looking shady by calling someone after Clint said he won't drop the case.

Aw yeah, what a pair, Laura helping Clint out digging up info. I wonder what tech they're at home.
Good thing they translated Laura's German, because the pronunciation wasn't too good and neither was the grammar. But look at these cuties having a secret language to not bother the kids with business.

So Jack is a bad guy after all. And I thought that mustache was just meant to mislead us!
HA! So the watch isn't just a McGuffin. Seems a bit weird that Jack would have his goons steal something from an auction for which he's present. But then I do vaguely remember Armand saying something about Jack not having that much money.

It's cute how they have fun with the aphorism thing. Aw, Kate warming up to Jack because she sees how honestly happy he makes her mom. But I'm worried that this will only lead to a revelation that Eleanor didn't love Kate's dad.

Kate looking guilty when Eleanor says "What's better than being with family?", so then of course the former goes to Clint. I wonder if that just means she feels bad about him not getting to be with his family or if she also sees her dad in him.

Did Clint not see that his cup says "Thanos was right" or is he okay with that?

I was just about to be scandalized about Kate scribbling on one of her aunt's posters, but then I noticed it's framed, there's glass in front of it. Phew!
Pfft, Kate drew glasses on Moira's character.
Will we ever find out of which of Kate's parents Moira's the sister? I'm hoping for moms, because someone on Tumblr said that if we ever see said aunt, she should be played by Taissa Farmiga and I concur. Though it looks like she wouldn't be the right age - those posters look like they're from older films.

Adorable bonding time, yeah! I wish that montage hadn't lead to the next thing, ouch!
Best shot Clint ever took was the one he didn't take. After a moment of confusion it hit me like a ton of bricks. I didn't expect him to actually tell that story then.

Ha, the LARPers come in handy. Sometimes cops asking for bribes can be good!

Hahaha, Kazi actually asks for his gun back.
My god, I hope Clint took the bullets out before throwing it. You don't want it to accidentally go off!

Gotta love Kate having fun with the LARPers and costumes.
Officer Wendy's proud smile when she brings the arrows! But curse this show for making me invested in the wellbeing of a bag!

Ooh, who owned this watch? Could it be Coulson? That's someone who should be brought back.

Hahaha, ages are listed after 2 of Clint's kids' names, but not after Nate. You don't wanna point out that he should be 4.

Oh, that's Maya's apartment! Hm, physically strong orphan who has lots of plants - she's Sailor Jupiter!

"Who the hell am I fighting then?" Hahaha.
Because of comics-knowledgable people on Tumblr I already knew that this is Yelena. I had expected her to turn up later.

Good thing that gun didn't go off when it fell down that shaft of windows.

Holy shit, poor Clint suffering flashbacks when Kate was thrown from the rooftop.

A flashbang arrow, whoa! Makes sense that Maya would recover first, to her that bang was only a shockwave. Because of the nightvision goggles the flash would have have hit Yelena harder than normal though, wouldn't it?

Pulling the "Kate is falling" thing again, this time over window shaft. Cruel!

It's super weird to me how Kate didn't shoot after Yelena shook her head. I mean I get that this is supposed to mirror how Clint and Natasha met (Hey, if Kate and Yelena don't end up becoming BFFs, people will be so disappointed!), but it kinda makes it look like it wasn't Kate's decision, as if Yelena has any kind of authority over Kate.

Soooo... does Clint not know that Yelena is Nat's sister or why does he think she would be hired?
