Disney sure is ramping up their plans for Marvel and Star Wars content, huh? Hopefully this community can serve as a meeting ground for people wanting to talk about all the new shinies.

Some basic guidelines:
* General courtesy, please. If you don’t like it, don’t read it. (make back button, not war, my pals ❤️)
* Comments make the fandom go round. See something you like, let em know!
* Any and all spoilers go beneath a cut, and are marked as such. This includes casting information and trailer reactions. Mild spoilers for episodes that have been out for over a week is ok.
* If posting icons, post up to four teaser icons, the rest after the cut/following the link. Spoilers count in icon-form as well, so no icons from episodes less than a week old outside of a cut, please.
* No graphics bigger than 400x400 outside of cuts.
* Any and all content is welcome for new or old Disney+ shows related to Marvel and Star Wars. (Fics, art, recs, meta, vids, graphics, discussion & question posts, reviews and general thoughts, podfic, crafts, resources, news, promoting challenges and exchanges related to Disney+ shows, etc. We may have to reconsider our approach to fic if we start to get a lot of fic announcement posts.)
* Tagging is strongly encouraged (organization! woo \o/).
* No AI fanworks.
* Do not post content made by others, but please do link to it. Sharing is caring <3

When viewing a journal's tag pages, you can change the URL to show you entries tagged with multiple tags. I'd like to post about the newest WandaVision episode. Would it be okay to just post my thoughts and then everyone can comment with theirs? If so, do you have a tagging system in mind? Like, should I tag it "WandaVision" or something like "show: WandaVision"? And should it be "episode discussion", "episode reaction" or something else?

Sure! If you’re just looking to post on a specific episode, no need to sign up. But if you’d like to do the remaining season, ideally posting within 36 hours of the episode going live, I’ll pop your name down in the sign-up post.

If so, I’ve set up some starter tags, this would be show: wandavision and episode reaction. Doing an episode reaction, it’s usually good to have some questions in the post itself to prompt responses, and then popping your own episode thoughts in a comment, so people can reply specifically to your thoughts if they want to. (example)

In either case, just make sure to put any spoilers under the cut :)

I'm so glad you got a volunteer for WandaVision! I'm weird, I felt a bit overwhelmed by the idea of making reaction posts. It's responsibility and what if I post the wrong promts (I guess that's a form of impostor syndrome)?

I only have an iPhone/pad rn, so this might prove tricky. All highlighting looks the same on these devices regardless of code... I did add some css, mind trying it out? And please let me know if I ruined something lol.

You make wonderful icons in general, but I'm especially happy to se more humorous/cracky ones. Seems like as the icon community shrank, of the ones that stayed, it's mostly about the artsy aesthetic. I do love me some punny icons <3

Could we have regular (weekly/fortnightly/monthly?) fanworks request posts? I have a sudden craving for a video of WandaVision scenes with a specific song, but have neither the skills nor the tech. And it would be a nice place to get icon ideas too.

Oh, that's a great idea, though might get to be a bit much on a weekly/monthly basis. Been giving it some thought, and could maybe try a prompt-a-thon every three months - both preventing overload, and giving people ample time to produce fills - and then a wrap-up-athon for whenever a show's had a season finale, specific to that one show. That way, we could also exclude seasons currently airing, so people won't have to worry about dodging spoilers.

I'd love to do comics rec/discussion posts too, pertaining to upcoming shows like Aja's Hawkeye, or maybe Loki's Journey Into Mystery arch, but I think that's more me wanting to do stuff that I won't get around to 😅

Btw, you seem very enthusiastic about the community (yay!), would you be at all interested in co-modding?

I've had an idea how to handle the requests posts: Make non-sticky posts for every fandom (that way people could avoid spoilers for stuff they haven't watched yet) and link to these posts (and the others that are currently stickies) in one sticky post. If someone wants a requests post for a certain fandom, they can ask in the sticky post. If there haven't been any requests/fills in a requests post for a certain time, post a reminder.

OMG, I wanted to ask about comics (Where to get them? Is digital subscription a thing, so I won't drown in stacks of paper in my little apartment? There's such a fuckload of source material that I feel too overwhelmed to look up anything! I mean, where does one even start?), but I wasn't sure if it would be on topic enough.

I'm super enthusiastic! But I'm bad with people and their expectations, so it would be very helpful if I hould have a behind-the-scenes role or something with clear instructions.

Oh yay! I'm not overly knowledgeable but I loathe floppy single-issue comics with a passion, so unless I really adore a certain series and get the shiny hardcover collection, all my stuff is digital through Comixology. You can read them on your computer through their site, or dl the app for your mobile or tablet. (they all have the feature to read from panel to panel instead of page to page, so size isn't that big of an issue).

Comixology also tends to have frequent sales, so I like to wishlist most things and check periodically. Subscribing to series gets expensive fast, so unless I absolutely have to read/keep up with something, or it's a smaller thing I really want to support, I wait for the collected trades. There's usually a bit of a discount, especially if you pre-order them/wait for a sale.

I know there's a Marvel subscription (through Marvel) where you get access to a huge part of their backlog, but I don't know how much of a delay there is on those.

Oh, and where to start? Lol I think you need a doctorate to figure that out.

But it really depends on what part of the franchise you're interested in? F.exa. they seemed to pull a lot for WandaVision from both "House of M" and "Vision". Since Hawkeye will feature both Kate and Pizza Dog, the "Hawkeye" run by Matt Fraction would be the place to start.

I'm really not well-read in comics, but I'm sure there's more than one article on the inter webs by now.
