I guess last night's Moon Knight finale wasn't bad but I'm a little confused by the ecstatic reviews I've been reading for it. It felt oddly rushed to me, like a trailer for an episode rather than an actual episode. There were big chunks of character development still missing and necessary to support what happens and some dialogue just didn't make any sense. It had some nice spectacle, though.

Last night's Moon Knight was better than I expected, even better than last week's. The teleplay by Rebecca Kirsch and Matthew Orton had things I even loved though it also had the kinds of problems I would expect from something rushed.

Last night's new Moon Knight was my favourite episode so far. The Indiana Jones vibe swerved into a Hellboy vibe for an episode that's finally delivering on the promise for the MCU to lean more into horror.

Last night's Moon Knight had a good, old fashioned adventure serial vibe. Writers Beau DeMayo, Peter Cameron, and Sabir Pirzada took the show into a slightly different tone but director Mohamed Diab returned to give us quality action sequences again as he did in the first episode. Though again with strangely unfinished looking effects.

A solid new Moon Knight last night. This second episode wasn't quite as extravagant as the first but I felt like I was settling into a decent serialised adventure. It felt a bit like classic Doctor Who.

Last night saw the premiere of Moon Knight, the latest MCU series to premiere on Disney+. It's not a bad first episode, not quite as good as Hawkeye or Loki's first episode but a bit better than Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Writing and direction were decent but most of the credit belongs to Oscar Isaac and Ethan Hawke, both of whom deliver excellent performances, particularly Isaac.

+ On March 16, the Marvel Netflix shows will all appear on the streaming service, meaning the whole Defenders crew. If anybody's looking to arrange a community rewatch, now might be the time ;)

+ March 30th Moon Knight premieres! Anybody up for doing the community reaction posts? (due to my job, I'm eternally not available for this) The Best Marvel Moon Knight Comics to Read Before the MCU Series from CBR looks to be a good comics primer, and not with a long list of things to read.

+ May 25th Obi-Wan Kenobi premieres. And it seems composer John Williams has returned to write the score!

+ Ms Marvel is still listed as TBD Summer 2022, and She-Hulk a general 2022 TBD. Ironheart seems to have slipped over to a 2023 TBD (starts filming in June 2022).

+ Throwing a promo in here: [community profile] superhero_land has relocated to Dreamwidth, and will be starting up a new round soon. Apply for a team here. Anything from Marvel and DC are covered as Acceptable Fandoms, including the comics. That covers Star Wars as well.

+ If anybody is interested in co-modding, please do let me know.

I'm very much a casual comics fan, so not a wealth of knowledge in the area. And so I went a lookin!

5 comics to pick up for WandaVision
If you can’t wait for WandaVision’s launch, we’ve rounded up five of the best Wanda and Vision stories for you to read right now. These series look to provide lots of useful context for some of the events viewers may see on the show while also providing a deeper insight into what makes the relationship between these two characters so compelling.

5 Comic Books To Read Before Watching Marvel’s Loki on Disney+
Here is a list of five Loki comic books that I think you should read before watching the show on Disney+ in May! Some will most definitely tie-in to the show, and others are just really great Loki stories.

Moon Knight: 10 Comics To Read In Preparation For The Disney+ Show.
Marc Spector/Moon Knight is not the most well-known comic character outside of his own fanbase, which could make some fans curious about the mysterious Lunar Legionnaire and his unique take on vigilantism, so we've put together a helpful guide for anyone looking to explore the rich comic history of Moon Knight before he joins the MCU.

10 Hawkeye Comics to Read Before the Disney+ Series.
Bishop has become a fan favorite, appearing in hundreds of comics since her premiere in 2005. Barton, introduced as a villain in 1964, has been avenging on the page since 1965. In addition to Bishop taking up the Hawkeye mantel so the geriatric archer can ride off into the proverbial sunset, she’s also supposed to appear in the MCU’s take on the Young Avengers—Marvel Studios has A LOT of story to tell. In preparation for the Disney+ series (and what will potentially be adapted), we’ve rounded up 10 Hawkeye comics to better acquaint yourself with this pair’s history. (aww bro, I should re-read Aja's Hawkeye.)

Alternately, Disney+'s Hawkeye: 10 Kate Bishop Comics To Read Before Watching The Show.
Kate Bishop. She's pretty much an Avenger.

5 Comic Books To Read Before Watching The Falcon And The Winter Soldier.
Here are 5 comic books that I think could have potential tie-ins to the series, but even if they don’t, they are totally worth reading. (I can vouch for Falcon & Winter Soldier Volume 1 being a fun, bantery ride, with pretty art.)

Couldn't find an article for Kamala Khan, but outside of team books, I can absolutely attest to the excellence of her original run: Ms Marvel by G. Willow Wilson. You get her origin story and how she grapples with her new powers, as well as spend some time with her lovely family. (also has a wealth of options if you're looking for physical copies). Saladin Ahmed took over the writing duties for Kamala's next solo outing, Magnificent Ms. Marvel, and he's just now wrapping it up (I've seen nothing but good things).

I think that covers all the Marvel shows we're likely to see in 2021(probably not Moon Knight but he had an article so 🤷🏻‍♀️). Do you have any comic arcs you'd like to shine the spotlight on?
